Organic Potato Starch (sometimes called potato flour) is made exclusively from high-quality organic starch potatoes grown locally by our contract farmers in the Baltic states, Finland and Sweden. Our production process is carefully designed and documented, and quality is the number one priority for our committed growers.

Naturally extracted, best ingredients

Organic potato starch is extracted from organic potatoes mechanically through an extensive process of washing and then separating the starch present in potato cells so that it can be produced into a powder. By using a modern production process we can guarantee the purity of our products. We take pride in responsible production, and our quality management system conforms to the ISO standard and FSSC 22000 or BRC. In 2015 we extracted – for the first time – the protein from the potato juice to decrease our environmental footprint. Water is used in the process several times before being purified in our own biological water treatment plant.

Organic potato starch is a pure and natural product that is 100% free of preservatives or additives. Organic Potato Starch is a natural starch, which makes it ideal for preservative-free cooking and baking. Our potato starch products are gluten-free and suitable for vegans.

Organic Functional Ingredients

Organic Potato Starch is extremely important for organic food processing as it is the most versatile native starch in terms of functionality and applications in food. While mainstream food industry can use a wide range of modified starches where the starch raw material (corn, tapioca, wheat etc) is not critical, organic processors depend on the natural functionality of native starches. Organic potato starch is used in food manufacturing in very different types of applications; as a water binder, thickener, anti caking agent, filling agent and as a food glue. Its water binding capacity is superior if compared to other native starches.

Our product is ideal for use in sauces, soups, desserts, gravies, puddings, meat industry (sausages), cold meats, casseroles, cakes and other bakery products and pasta, dry blends, instant products, dairy products, fruit and berry preparations and desserts, confectionery, baby foods and seasoning blends among others. Potato starch can be used as a major raw material in addition to or instead of other starches in all gluten-free products.
